Democracy Convention

Democracy is coming... to the U.S.A.

Join a preliminary discussion to  plan a campaign to end frac sand mining, the largely overlooked dimension of hydraulic fracking. As the administration increases oil and gas production for export and opens federal lands and oceans to exploration and production, time to join these issues. The impact of corporate power on local democracy and on the environment and health of rural communities must end.

Fracking for oil and gas, mainly for export, is accelerating.

The accumulating mass of this industrial infrastructure, including for frac sand mining, is devastating communities and tribal nations, and polluting air, land and water and harming public health. To protect corporate profits, governments fail to act in the public interest and perpetuate harms . Many communities, in TX, IL, PA, CA, WI, MI, NY and more, have mobilized locally, but now its time to pull everyone and every community together for a national campaign.
