RACIAL EQUALITY

Efforts and movements to address racism throughout history have been sparks and catalysts for all areas of pro-democracy and social justice work. At the same time, structural racism has been a central force to derailing democracy in the U.S. throughout our history. It is time to hold a struggle for racial equality central to any organizing for justice we do as we work towards liberation for all people. This conference focuses on issues facing communities of color; white people addressing racism; bringing a racial justice focus to all our work for democracy; intersections of race, gender, class and sexuality; tactics and strategies for moving towards racial and economic justice; and the on the ground work people are doing to make it happen.
