To grow strong from the grassroots, we must root our movement in equity and justice while learning about and pro-actively resisting forces that restrict our true liberation. Our movement spaces are not exempt from the effects of patriarchy, homophobia, transphobia, etc. and these dynamics play out in our activist groups. In order to resist we must be intentional about gender justice within our organizing communities. This session will deliberate about what a movement rooted in gender justice would look like and how we can begin to build for that within our own organizing. We hope this session will be interactive, actionable, and grounded by experience and practical implementation.
