Building a Democracy Movement
Paul Shannon is an activist, writer, and speaker in various peace, union, prison reform, human rights, and social justice movements (particularly the United Farm Workers’ union drives, the Vietnam anti-war and solidarity movements, the movement to end apartheid in South Africa, the 1980s Central American and Cambodian solidarity movements, the Haitian solidarity movement, the Afghanistan and Iraqi anti-war movements, and efforts to end the US permanent war state). He has been teaching social science courses at a number of colleges for 39 years and is a member of the program staff of the Northeast Region of the American Friends Service Committee.
