Democracy Convention

Democracy is coming... to the U.S.A.

Our Federal Government has grown increasingly detached from the citizens and voters who elect it. Once in Washington, the political party's need for power and winning elections overwhelms doing what's right for the country and the voters. To fix this, we need to change our Constitution to make our system of elections and representation accountable and responsive to the voters. The Federal Accountability Amendment embeds new rules in the Constitution to eliminate partisan packing of the Supreme Court, obstruction of progress by extra-Constitutional rules invented by Congress, oppression of the minority by the majority, and elections that produce non-representative results. The purpose of this session is to introduce the proposed amendment and generate discussion among representatives to the convention as to its possible effectiveness, plus test interest in advocating for it nationwide.
