A former low-wage worker and a server for 10 years, as Executive Director of 15 Now, Ginger played a leading role in the movement to win $15 for Minneapolis. Ginger is running for Minneapolis City Council Ward 3 to build on that momentum to make big developers fund affordable housing and resist the Trump agenda, running under the banner of Socialist Alternative; Ginger pledges not to take donations from corporate executives and big developers and, if elected, she would accept only the average wage of a worker in the ward and donate the rest of the $80,000/year City Council pays themselves towards building social movements.
